An ESTIMATE prepared and approved by the Maniototo County Council, pursuant to Section 2, Sub-section 4 of “ The Counties Amendment Act, 1931,” showing for the period of 12 months commencing from the Ist day of April, 1950, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1951: 1. THE PROPOSED EXPENDITURE FOR THE SAID COUNCIL ON—(a) Administration 3,469 (b) Works, including maintenance, etc., of main highways and other roads 25,915 (c) Interest,' repayment of principal, sinking fund, instalments and loans, etc 1,227 (d) Hospital levy payable to the Maniototo Hospital Board .. 3,938 (e) Miscellaneous 9,579 £44,128 2. THE SUMS AVAILABLE FOR THE ABOVE PURPOSES ARE—(f) Sundry credits 15,448 (g) Govt subsidies and grants .. 11,885 £27 333 3. THE ADDITIONAL SUM REQUIRED IS £16,795 4. THE TOTAL RATEABLE VALUE of the properties on the Valuation Rolls of the County is £1,890,086. 5. THE GENERAL RATE thereon necessary to raise the money required „is Two and one-eighth Pence (2Jd) in the pound. NOTICE OF INTENTION TO LEVY RATES. PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is the intention of the Maniototo County Council at its next Meeting to be held on the 25th day of MAY, 1950, to Make and Levy a General Rate of Two and one-eighth Pence (2Jd) in the pound on the Capital Value of all the Rateable Property appearing in the Valuation Rolls of the said County, a uniform charge of ONE POUND SEVEN SHILLINGS AND SIXPENCE (£1 7s 6d) for the REMOVAL OF RUBBISH, AND THREE POUNDS (£3) for each and every SANITATION SERVICE in the RANFURLY TOWNSHIP AREA, and on behalf of the Otago- Catchment Board a Special Rate of l-18d in the pound on the Capital Value of all rateable property appearing on the Valuation Rolls of the Maniototo County. SUCH RATES and CHARGES shall be for a period commencing on the First Day of APRIL. 1950, and ending on the Thirty-first day of MARCH, 1951, and shall be Due and Payable in One Sum at the COUNTY OFFICE, Pery street, Ranfurly, on the 15th day of AUGUST. 1950. A Rebate of 2J per cent, will be allowed to every ratepayer off so much of the General Rate if such Rate is Paid within THIRTY (30) DAYS from the date thereof.
