The honour of beihg the first to entertain the British Isles football team, apart from the official function In Wellington, fell to the lot of Mr Harry Williams, of Oamaru, who, as relieving manager of the Majestic Theatre, Nelson, had them along to his house on Tuesday night. The team arrived in Nelson that morning and went to the theatre the same night. In a letter to the Daily Times, Mr Williams stated: “ Thev asked me if I wereyWelsh, and I replied in the negative, aaSing that I was no footballer—just in case they wanted me to join up in their team.”
