OTAGO HUNT CLUB
Meeting At North Taieri The hounds were in great fettle for the Otago Hunt Chib's meeting at North Taieri on Saturday, and, giving plenty of tongue, were weil clear of the field. The experience gained by thoroughbreds in the hunting held lias proved valuable in steeplechase events, and already this season several ’chasers have made their appearance. Tamerlane, winner of the last Hunt Cup, Corneaway, Eve Acre, and Anas iutnped well. During the afternoon tea break tile master. Mr J. E. Brunton, thanked the property owners, Messrs D. Connor, J. L. Skinner, and the trustees of the Bov Scouts' farm, and congratulated the new members on their perlormances. Those who followed were: The master, Mr J E. Brunton, on Comeaway; the acting deputy master, Mr J. Smellie, on Frances; the huntsman, Mr J. S. McKay, on Peter L.; the whips, Messrs J. Harris on Stately and W. Clifford on Spot Cash; Mrs W. Gorton on Sally Mine, Mrs A. C. Sherrill' on General McArthur, Miss E. lags on Blue Bird, Miss A. Horne on Amberley, Miss G. King on Noela, Miss J. Dew on Donald. Miss M. Thomson on Plunkot Shield, Miss P. Middle-mass on Comet. Messrs G. Lovett on Tiny. E. Lovett on Geordie, A. Warburton cn Desmond and Gaiety. J. McCulloch on William Teli, J. Fogo on Necal. F. Gorton on Jacko, J. Couits on Anas and Roseaday, B. Thompson on Tamerlane, D. Langford on Eve Acre, G. Trainor on Cavalier, R. Hurring on Penny Nap. Weather conditions permitting, a hunt will be held next Saturday at Mosgiel.
