English And Scottish Soccer CHAMPIONS ANNOUNCED Rec. 7 p.m. . LONDON, May 6. The positions of the leading and relegated clubs in the English and Scottish soccer season, which ended today resulted: League I:—Champions, Portsmouth: runners-up, Wolverhampton Wanderers. The two bottom clubs, Birmingham City and Manchester City have been relegated to League 11. League ll:—Champions, Tottenham Hotspurs; runners-up, Sheffield Wednesday. Both clubs promoted to League I. The bottom clubs were Plymouth Argyle, relegated to League 111 (Southern), and Bradford, to League 111 (Northern). League lll:—Southern-Notts County, the champions, promoted to League 11. League III: Northern-Doncaster, the champions promoted to League 11. Only one dub from the Southern and Northern leagues was promoted to League 11. Scottish League: Division One.—Champions, Glasgow Rangers. The two bottom clubs, Queen of South, and Stirling Albion, have been relegated to Division 11. Division Two.—Champions, Morton; runners-up, Airdrieonians. Both clubs promoted to Division I. Results:—

Portsmouth beat Aston Villa s—l, Stoke City lost to Arsenal 2—5, Sunderland beat Chelsea 4—l, Wolverhampton Wanderers beat Birmingham City 6—l. League II; Coventry City drew with Barnsley I—all. Hull City drew with Cardiff City I—all. Luton Town beat Bradford 3—l, Plymouth Argyle beat Bury 2-nil, Sheffield Wednesday drew with Tottenham Hotspur no score, Southampton beat Westham United 3—2, Swansea Town beat Grirnsbv Town 2—J. League 111. Southern-Bournemonth and Boscombe Athletic beat Norwich City 2 0 Brighton and Hove Albion beat Millwall Athletic 1-nil, Exeter City drew with Notts County 2—all, Ipswich Town beat Portvale 2—l, Leyton Orient drew with Southend United 2—all, Reading lost to Bristol Rovers nil-1, Swindon Town drew with Bristol City I—all, Walsall beat Crystal Palace 3—l. League HI: Northern-Carlisle United drew with Tranmere Rovers no score, Lincoln City beat Barrow 4-0, New Brighton beat York City 3—l, Rotherham United draw with Crewe Alexandra no score.
