Panther Breaks Loose NZPA—Copyright Rec. 9.35 p.m . BANGKOK, May 4. An American woman wild animal dealer and two Chinese crew members were injured when a panther broke loose on board the Norwegian ship. Brattheim. bound from Bangkok to Singapore. One of the Chinese was clawed severely in the abdomen and is now in Bangkok Hospital in a critical condition. The animal dealer, Genevieve Cuprys. aged 26. escaped with a badly slashed arm and contusions to her head, shoulders and back. The panther broke loose from a wooden cage and terrorised the ship for two hours. The Brattheim’s skipper returned to port and summoned wild animal handlers while the terrified panther cowered below decks in the scullerv. Animal handlers armed with shot guns blasted the panther to death at the por.t side.
