The Auckland Racing Club’s autumn meeting will be opened at Ellerslie on Saturday when the good fields should provide some excellent contests. The principal event will be the £SOOO Easter Handicap, over one mile. There will also be two classic races, the Great Northern Champagne Stakes and the Great Northern Oaks. The totalisator double will be operated on the Easter Handicap and the President’s Handicap. Selections are:— 11.10: Onslow Stakes.—First division: Cincinnati, Miss Kanui, Gay Revel. Second division: Talisman, Burma Raid, Merry Flight. 11.40: Great Northern Oaks.—Sweet Spray, Dixie, Lady Be True. 12.25: Brighton Hurdles.—Young Bob, Vienna View, Golden Reign. 1.35: Easter Handicap.—Rizzio, MereAna, Gold Pal. 2.20: Great Northern Champagne Stakes. Mainbrace, The Unicorn, Ptolemy. 3.0: Mangere Steeplechase.—Morocco, Rich Mint, Duke Royal. 3.50: President’s Handicap.—Vlgilantia. Sir Vite, Princessita.
4.35: Eden Handicap.—First division: Silver Robin, True Boy, Uturere. Second division: Dunkrevin. Merry Widow, Ballet.
