MR HOLYOAKE AT CROMWELL

Sir, —From published reports of this meeting only the. views Of Rabbit Board officials were mentioned. Mr Holyoake In summing up said the -majority , were in favour of rabbit boards. I disagree. Did Mr Holyoake. imagine that those officials were going to pass a vote of no confidence in themselves? Did the Minister Imagine that those people whose lands were infested with rabbits would publicly disagree with the policy of the Rabbit Destruction Council whose officials faced them on the stage alongside the Minister? For the above reasons Mr Holyoake might well have stayed at home. It must be said for those who have. been in favour of rabbit boards that all the finance required was promised them. It was not made known to them that the farmers would be called upon to find the lion’s share of the money required for the present extravagant scheme. I can see breakers ahead.—l am, etc., ' One of the Audience.
