PUBLIC NOTICES 'J'HE WAITAKI ELECTRIC POWER BOARD. POWER R MSTRICTIOXS. Pursuant to instructions from the General Manager of the State Hydro-electric Department and acting under the authority of “ The Electricity Control Regulations, 1949,” the Board is required to REDUCE THE UNIT CONSUMPTION IN THE AREA SUPPLIED BY THE BOARD to that obtaining for the corresponding weclc for 1949 This means a reduction of approximately 10 per cent, on present consumption. To give effect to this instruction, ALL CONSUMERS are requested to reduce their unit consumption to as great an extent as possible without unduly interfering with essential production. In addition, THE FOLLOWING RESTRICTIONS HAVE BEEN IMPOSED BY THE BOARD, OPERATIVE FROM MONDAY, APRIL 3, 1950: 1. All Domestic Water-heating to be switched off daily by the consumer from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (seven days per week). No variation of these hours will be allowed. 2. The use of Electric Radiators and other Space Heating in Offices and other Commercial and Industrial premises as defined in the Electricity Control Order, 1948, is prohibited between the hours of 11 a.m. and 12 noon and 4 p.m. and 6 p.m daily. Shop-window Lighting, Neon and other outside display lighting, including under-verandah lighting, may be used only up to 9.30 p.m. daily. The Electricity Control Regulations, 1949 give authority for the institution of penalties for failure to comply with any instructions imposed by the Supply Authority. N. A. DAVIDSON, Engineer.
