Otago Early Settlers
At the monthly meeting of the Otago Early. Settlers’ Association yesterday afternoon the following.. gifts -received during the ' month' were "acknowledged: From Mrs J: A. Anderson, biographical sketch of Mr and Mrs Matthew Paterson, Kaihiku; Tapanui High School Ex-pupils’ Association, supplements to. the School History 1928-1938. 1938-1948: Mr Keith Ramsay, seal of Colonial Bank, of New Zealand 1874-95; members of the family, per Mrs Godfrey, framed photograph of their late father. James Sutherland. Strathmore, 1856; Miss Israel, - lady’s dolman, made from paisley shawl brought from Scotland by Mrs J. W. -Jago, Cheviot, 1862; Mrs H. Ritchie, black apron; beaded cape, and beaded front for a dress, which belonged to Mrs Isabella Ritchie, and were brought with her to Otago, Electric, 1863; Mr E. J. Waldren, child’s carrying shawl over 80 years old and photograph of a hansom cab; Mr R. A. Fougere, spoon found at Cornish Point. Crdmwell; Mr C. Campbell, pit saw used in Waipori bush in 1861; Mr J. Gascoine, small framed photograph of Mrs Sarah Gascoine (nee Nichols) born on Nourmahal, 1858; Mr J. G. Cameron, collection, of small photographs of early residents-.of Otago; Miss J. M. Ross, framed photograph of - old. Balcultha bridge, and a copy ..of ,:TA Histdry of the Clutha Bridges ’’; The -Standard Insurance Company, copy of booklet-' 75th Anniversary, 1874-1949.”
