MID-WEEK RACING
PROTEST FROM BAPTIST UNION ; PA WELLINGTON, Mar. 7. A resolution carried at a meeting of the executive of the Baptist Union of New Zealand states; “That this executive convey to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Internal Affairs its i egret at the decision to allow the resumption of mid-week racing in certain areas. It believes that, in addition to a lowering of moral standards, this will tend to decrease production and increase absenteeism and lead to a general unsettlement in industry on race days.”:
