DUNEDIN FOOTBALL CLUB
A good financial position was shown at the annual meeting of the Dunedin Rugby Football Club last night. Among the large gathering present were the club's three life members. Messrs “ Clem ” Beck. A. C. Haynes and S. B. X3utlo c Officers elected were:—Patron. Mr A C. Haynes; president, Mr C. L. Collett; immediate past president, Mr A. W. Stevenson; vice-president. Mr N. Rodden; club captain, Mr E. Wallace; treasurer. Mr L. S. O’Regan; secretary, Mr T. P. Rodden; auditor, Mr F. R. Thompson; committee— Messrs A. Beck, T. G. Tracey, J. Whelan, A. Manion, S. Macpherson, F. Newall: delegates to ORFU—Messrs A. C Haynes, S. B. Butler and L. F. O’Regan; Junior Advisory Committee, Mr R. Curran: accident fund. Mr A, W. Stevenson.
Mrs C. M. Ross, of Porarari settlement between Greymouth and Westport, has a banana tree growing on her property. The tree is an unusual sight in the South Island. Not only is the tree alive and thriving, but it has produced a large bunch of bananas, and these are also doing well.
