WARNING TO BATHERS
Dunedin citizens who wish to swim at the city’s beaches during the week-end would do well to confine their activities to the St. Clair surf. The beach patrol at St. Kilda reported yesterday that the surf there was very dangerous. There was a rip running towards St. Clair, and another 100 yards on the Lawyer’s Head side of the St. Kilda clubhouse which was running towards Lawyer’s Head. It was considered that with a continuation of the south wind the condition of the surf would not change to any appreciable extent over the week-end. The St. Clair beach patrol reported that conditions should be good for swimming during the week-end. Yesterday there was a small channel off the beach and a slight rip to the south. The surf was moderate and was expected to remain so.
