Masked Robbers’ Daring Hold-up Of Boston Hotel
NZPA—Copyright Rec. 9.20 p.m. NEW YORK, Jan. 16. Three gunmen, masked so grotesquely that their victims thought they were practical jokers, stole 47,000 dollars in cash and cheques from the Statler Hotel in Boston today. Two of the gunmen wore slitted paper hags over their heads and the other was masked with what appeared to be a woman’s stocking. They first knocked out the hotel detective, then held, up seven employees in the cashier’s office. Twenty-six thousand dollars of the robbers’ haul was in cash.
