DOMINION'S SYMPATHY
PA WELLINGTON, Jan. 17. The Royal New Zealand Navy has sent a message of sympathy to the Admiralty in London following the sinking of the submarine Truculent in the Thames Estuary. A cablegram sent by the New Zealand Naval Board through its office in London reads: “Please convey to the Admiralty the deepest sympathy of the Royal New Zealand Navy in the tragic loss of HMS Truculent with heavy loss of life.”
The cablegram also contained a message from the New Zealand Navy League: “Please convey to the Admiralty our deepest sympathy with the next of kin of the brave men Who lost their lives in the disaster to HMS Truculent”
