GROWING DISTRICT
The number of persons living in the Hamilton employment district has been rising rapidly, both in urban and rural areas, over the past 20 to 25 years. With boundaries extending southward from the mouth of the Waikato River to Te Kuiti and eastward to include Morrinsville. Matamata, and Putaruru, points out the monthly review of employment issued by the National Employment Service, the district has the largest labour force of any of the 22 employment districts outside the four major districts centring on Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin.
