POOR RESULTS
Holiday Fishing During the last seven or eight days, fishing in the North Otago rivers has been very disappointing. Anglers were looking forward to a good week’s holiday on the river, but once again the Waitaki spoilt their chances. The Waitaki, although running high, is fishable at present, but it is difficult to say in what state the river will be by the end of the week, as heavy rain again been experienced in the back* country. Anglers met with very poor results during the past week. There is plenty of bait at the mouth of the river and kawahi are present in large numbers in the surf. Although in good order, the Kakanui has also proved disappointing. A few fish have been taken, but anglers at the mouth have not met with any success. There is no prospect of the existing conditions improving in the meantime.
