CANTERBURY CHAMPIONSHIPS SEMI-FINALS PLAYED PA CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 28. The Canterbury lawn tennis championships were continued today. The high north-west wind of the first three days had dropped, and there was a moderate easterly, but rain late in the afternoon interrupted some games. Results:— MEN’S SINGLES Semi-finals O. M. Bold (Hutt Valley) beat J. E, Robson (Otago) 6—3, V —9, 6—4, 4—6, B—6. R. S. McKenzie (Wellington) beat R. G. Pattinson (Canterbury), 6—4, 6—l, 6—l. WOMEN’S SINGLES Semi-finals Miss M. Beverley (Waikato) beat Miss M. i son (Otago), 6 —l, 4—6, 6—3. Miss > Jibbon (Canterbury) beat Mi iter (Auckland), V—s, 6—3. S DOUBLES Semi-finals J. A. Barry and A. S. Burns (Auckland) beat R. A. H. Howe and R. G. Pattinson (Canterbury), 6—3, 5—7-, 6—4, 6—3. J. E. Robson (Otago) and R. S. McKenzie (Wellington) v. M. Otway (Auckland) and O. M. Bold (Hutt Valley), 7—5, B—6, 4—6, 9—9 (unfinished). WOMEN’S DOUBLES Semi-finals Misses M. Beverley (Waikato! and M. Robertson (Otago) beat Misses M. Kerr (Otago) and B. Potter (Auckland), 6—4, 6—o. Mrs I. Hatheriey and Miss T. Poole (Canterbury) beat Mrs C. Anderson (Wellington) and Miss J. Mac Gibbon (Canterbury), 9—7, 6 —4.
