UNSETTLED AND SHOWERY The official weather forecast issued by the Government Meteorologist in Wellington is:— Situation.—A depression is moving rapidly across the South Island from the Tasman Sea. Weather in Dunedin.—Dull conditions continued in Dunedin yesterday, and the sun appeared for only 30 minutes. Temperatures during the day were warm, the maximum being 62.7 degrees, but the air freshened towards evening and rain began to fall. The minimum temperature was 55 degrees. For the 24 hours ended at 9 a.m„ 0.10 inches of rain were recorded. The barometer was steady yesterday, but showed a falling tendency towards midnight, when the reading was 29.75 inches.
