CHASE THROUGH CITY
A constable was led a merry chase along George street last night when a young man he had detained for questioning broke away. Sime time about 9 o’clock, the constable became suspicious about a person starting a motor cycle in George street, near the State Theatre, and when the motor cycle had gone a few yards and stalled, he went up to the young man and asked if the motor cycle belonged to him. The answers to further questions did not satisfy the constable, who asked the man to go along to the station to clear the matter up. While the constable was ringing the Police Station from a public booth, the man made off, with the constable in hot pursuit. He eventually caught the man at Moray place, and he was then escorted to the station.
