SUMMER CUP AT ELLERSLIE KING’S PLATE TO LORD MOSS Special to the Dally Times AUCKLAND, Dec. 28. Vigilantia scored a decisive victory from Rosslare and Balmacara in the Summer Cup, the principal event on the second day of the Auckland Raging Club’s summer meeting at Ellerslie today. He was well ridden by G. F. Hughes, who also won the King's Plate on Lord Moss. Hughes had three winning rides on the first day and so far is the leading horseman at the meeting, with five wins. Lord Moss had an end-to-end victory in the King’s Plate, in which King Finchall and Rizzio filled the minor places after a very uneven start. The three-year-old. Good Century, finished strongly to defeat a useful field of sprinters in the Electric Handicap. Good Century was third to Mere-ana and Nionyx in the Queen's Plate on the first day. The best dividends for a win were Sleepy Duke, £l2 14s 6d; and Good Century, £9 15s; and for a place, Flying Officer, £9 Os 6d. Sleepy Duke and Good Century were both ridden by M. Martinovich, who won the Auckland Cup on Swanee on Monday. The weather was cloudy and warm and the course was fast.
