A SAD FIGURE
DUKE OF WINDSOR VISITS HOMELAND Resident Correspondent LONDON, Dec. 23. An odd photograph and a few small paragraphs were all the news we had this week of a visit by the 55-year-old ex-King of England, the Duke of Windsor. He stayed only three days and he was off again to join the Duchess in France, whence he is to depart for the United States. While here he saw his mother (Queen Mary) and members of the Royal Family, transacted some business, called at his •tailor, and had dinner with a few old friends at Whites, an exclusive London club. He is a rather sad figure the'se days as he passes on a ceaseless round of visits to Paris, the Riviera, Switzerland and America—but seldom to his native land. .
