MINING NEWS
Mount Morgan.—For the four weeks ended December 11, 64,550 tons of ore were treated in the sulphide mills. The production total was 55160 z of gold and 310 tons of copper. The reverberatory smelter closed down for an overhaul on November 24, and it is expected that smelting will be resumed during the middle of January. Meanwhile, both mills are producing concentrates, but no direct smelting ore is being handled.
