HACK CUP TO FAVOURITE OPENING DAY AT TARANAKI PA NEW PLYMOUTH, Dec. 26. Though the weather early in the day 'was fine, the last race was run in heavy rain on the first day of the Taranaki Jockey Club’s summer meeting today. The track was in good order and the attendance was large. The totalisator handled £59,565, including £3287 10s on the doubles totalisator, against last year’s total of £57,647.
