STATE HOUSES

Sir, —I have been reading letters about living conditions of those on waiting lists for State houses. There are nine of us living in a five-roomed house, one room with a bath included. I may say.we are rather crampred for space, as we have seven children. The room with the bath is larger than the kitchen, which is much too small to dirte in. The house is 80 years old, and is going to be pulled down shortly. We suffered severely in the depression years under a National Government. Now we are quite happy and far better off under the Labour Government than ever before, and know we will get a State house when other—perhaps more urgent cases—have been attended' to, as we also have been on the waiting list a very long time.—l am, etc., Staunch Labour.
