Scotsman Offers £IO,OOO For Exhibition Car
s NZPA—Copyright Rec. 8 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 17. Tired of waiting for a new car xvhfch he “ really needs,” a "*e*lthv Scotsman, Mr A. L. Pickard, walked into a motor show at Glasgow and wrote out a cheque for £IO,OOO for a Hillman Minx exhibition “ ghost ” model made almost entirely of transparent plastic so that visitors can see its construction and motor. The model has been shown in New Ydrk and in London. A standard model of the car would cost Mr Pickard £505, but delivery for Home buyers would take three years. The motor company is considering the offer and Mr Pickard promises to use the carjust as it is.”
