INTERESTING SLIDES The value of trees to the country and their beauty were portrayed by Dr E. S. Stubbs in a lantern lecture to members and friends of the North Otago Tree Planting Association on Wednesday night. Dr Stubbs showed slides taken from all parts of the world and spoke of the history of trees and the uses to which they could be put HAMPDEN RESIDENTS The newly-formed Hampden Residents’ Association held a meeting recently at which Mr W. R. Laney, president of the North Oamaru Citizens’ Association, gave an address. He outlined the activities of the Oamaru association, emphasising how much could be achieved by such a group of people working in the interests of the community. HIGH TIDES High tides in the Port of Oamaru today ares at 1.24 a.m. and 1.49 p.m. SHOW AWARD In yesterday's report of the bays’ section at the show it was stated that the Windsor Women’s Institute gained third place. This should have read Windsor Park.
