BROWN EWINGS STEADIER GOVERNMENT STOCK ACTIVE With a turnover of 2450 shares and nearly £2OOO of Government Stock, business was maintained at: a high level on the Stock Exchange yesterday. Broken Hill Proprietary contributing shares sold higher at 27s ‘6d, and Woolworths, Ltd., on a turnover of 900 shares, were steady and firm at 225. Brown, Ewing and Co., ordinary, sold at 555, after the wide skirmishing on the previous day, and established an ex-bonus market price. New Zealand Paper Mills, Wilsons Cement and Woolworths. New Zealand, were all quoted on a lower level, but only by reason of being called on an ex-dividend basis. DUNEDIN
