OVER 260 A DAY
FATAL ACCIDENTS IN AMERICA
Rec. 8 p-m. NEW YORK, Oct. 24. Accidents killed over 260 persons each day last year in the United States, said the Health Commissioner, Mr Earle Brown. The accident toll in 1948 totalled nearly 100,000. Approximately 10,600 persons were accidentally injured and about 380,000 injuries resulted In permanent impairment. Accidents as the cause of death were now exceeded only by diseases of the heart, cancer and cerebral hcßmorrliage.
