Rec. 10 p.m. BERLIN, Oct. 25. The Russian-sponsored East German Government announced that it was seeking normal diplomatic and economic relations with any Government in the world willing to deal with it “ on a basis of mutual respect and equality.” A statement to this effect was handed to correspondents at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Russian sector. It said that the Government’s aim was the prevention of any return of German imperialism and the establishment of peaceful and friendly relations between the German people and all other peoples, “ including those of the Soviet Union, whose Government recognises and has repeatedly defended the German people’s national interests.”
