CITY COUNCIL REQUIREMENTS The tender of Messrs O’Connell and McKewen for the erection of a rectifier sub-station in Anderson’s Bay road for the sum of £2762 was accepted at last evening’s meeting of the City Council. It was also agreed that the offer of Messrs Burroughs, Ltd., to supply a typewriter accounting machine of the latest model to replace the present machine in the city engineer’s office should be accepted, the figure quoted being £964, less 10 per cent., less an allowance of £135 for the existing machine. The agreement was subject to the supplier’s dollar credits being available, the council having the right, to review the order.
