POPULAR STAMPS
NEW HEALTH ISSUES STOCKS REPORTED LOW The demand for the 1949 health stamps shows no'slackening, and there seems a likelihood that for the first time in the history of v these popular issues there will be a complete clearance some weeks before they are due to be withdrawn from sale. The Daily Times was informed from an official source yesterday that stocks are becoming very low in many post offices throughout the Dominion, and that large quantities are increasingly difficult to obtain. In philatelic circles the stamps are regarded as the most attractive of all the health issues, and there is no doubt that this has been an Important factor in their popularity with the public. The fact, too, that two minor faults—a missing dot and too many—have been discovered, has undoubtedly'stimulated interest in them.
