It was showery but very warm in Wellington to-day,, and the forecast is for similar conditions to-morrow when the Wellington Racing Club opens its spring meeting. Frances and The Hob were withdrawn at 2.20 p.m. to-day from their engagements in the Wainui and Shorts Handicaps respectively. Oslo was scratched at 3.15 p.m. and Roscarea at 9 a.m. for the Rimutaka Handicap, and Royal Moutoa was scratched from the Glen Hurdles at 10.45 a.m.

The track is still in good order and unless there is heavy rain the going will be good. Horses in favour include:— 11.0: Glen Hurdles.—Keen Wit, Detain, First Act.
