INQUEST AT PORT CHALMERS
A verdict of death from heart failure between October 7 and October 13 was returned by Mr J. D. Willis, S.M., sitting as coroner at an inquest at Port Chalmers yesterday on the death of Frederick William Logie, a single man, aged 66, living at Moponui, which is halfway between Port Chalmers and Waitati. Evidence of identification was given by Frederick Logie Olsen, a nephew of the deceased, and Sergeant J. O’Shea represented the police. The anxiety of a bread deliverer led to the discovery of Mr Logie’s body. It was noticed that bread had not been removed from his mail box for almost a week, and the Port Chalmers police were advised. They visited the house on Thursday evening and found Mr Logie dead' in bed.
