RATEPAYERS’ MEETING

PENINSULA DISTRICTS After several preliminary meetings, the three Peninsula ratepayers and householders’ associations met at Portobello on Wednesday night to form a plan to secure a more equitable representation on the Peninsula County Council for the builtup areas in Macandrew Bay, Broad Bay and Portobello before the local bodies' elections the held next year. Other amenities needed included an ash removal service, bus shelters, innovations which would jointly concern the three districts. The delegates present were:—Portobello: Mr Wilson and Mr Tregonning. Broad Bay: Mr Robinson and Mr Fleming. Manandrew Bay: Mrs J. Allen, Mr E. Bradshaw and Mr G. F. Bewley. Mr Bewley was elected chairman, Mr Robinson deputy chairman and Mrs J.
