NOISY FILM-GOERS
Sir, —I read with amazement the attitude taken by “Picture-goer” to our children's and adolescents’ behaviour in our Mosgiel picture hall. “ Picture - goer ** certainly cannot be a regular patron or no doubt he or ; > she would have had ample • scope for studying the cause of irritation which accounts for the manners and behaviour of our children, youth and even adults. The equipment used to show the films must be in a poor state of repair. In years of regular attendance (this being the only diversion in Mosgiel) I have seen only five or six films screened without the screen going black at least twice during the picture, the sound failing and numbers flashing on the screen. Why does “ Picture-goer ” blame parents for people’s loud-voiced wrath and indignation at being given a disappointing show, or has he or she an interest in this enterprise? —I am, etc., Filmhouse Sufferer.
