RED CROSS NOTES
Red Cross Voluntary Aids visited Christchurch last week-end to attend competitions for the Kohn Shield In marching and the Collins Cup for home nursing. This was the first time that these events have been held in the South Island, and great interest was shown by the large number of VAD’s who competed. The winning teams were Auckland and North Canterbury. On Monday, the officers held a conference, the delegates from Otago being Mrs D. Mazey, Miss D. O. Ramsay, Miss F. Duckworth and Miss P. Moore. Donations amounting to £26 2s 6d were received during September from the Kyburn, Dunback, Kaikorai, South Otago, Milton DHS, Allanton, Waikouaiti, Broad Bay and Arrowtown Circles, and these are to be used for Ecuador earthquake relief, lepers and crippled children funds, the Blind Institute and food for overseas.
