INJURED ANIMALS
Sir—'“Let Justice Be Done” evidently speaks with knowledge and has certainly "lifted the lid.” Now, I am full .of Questions. Why are men without veterinary degrees, such as the SPCA inspector and the corporation ranger, dealing with the injuried animals? Is-that not work for the Blue Cross Society? I have myself been assured that it is at all ■ times willing to get veterinary attention for any injured animal. The ranger must know this. The fact appears to be that the inspector of the SPCA was evidently somewhere in the picture. There is something far wrong somewhere when an animal cari be- given a raw deal such as this.—l am. etc., Animal Lover.
Sir, —Thanks to “ Animal Lover No. 2 ” for the information regarding the Dogs Registration Act. (1) Where is this pound? (2) At what hours of the day is it open to the public? - „ ... . At present the General Committee of the City Council is in some respects many years behind the times—the " move is overdue—l am, etc., Methusalah.
Sir,—We want protection for our dumb animals, protection in every sense of the word. No lip service will suffice. Will Mr Barrett please state if he was ever at any time interviewed with regard to the treatment this dog had received? The public would like a straight-forward answer. If he was not interviewed, the omission is serious.—l am. etc.. Right is Might.
[When the letters of “ Methusalah ’ and “ Right is Might ” were referred to the chief traffic inspector. Mr E. H. Barrett, he said he had no comment to make on -either.—Ed.. O.D.T.]
