Dr C. H. Tait is'at present in Christchurch for the New Zealand dental conference.
Mr C. W. Birch, general manager of the National Insurance Company, returned to Dunedin recently from an extended tour overseas.
Dr J. P. Walsh, dean of the National Dental School, left yesterday to attend the New Zealand dental conference in Christchurch.
The acting mayor, Cr L. M. Wright, and the acting city electrical engineer, Mr A. H. Dickson, are at present in Wellington attending the conference of the Electric Supply and Power Authorities' Association.
Senior air liaison officer of the United Kingdom joint services liaison mission, Group Captain R L. Kippenberger, will shortly return to Britain. He will be replaced by Group Captain M. L. Heath, who will arrive with his family in Wellington in the Dominion Monarch on October 13. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Men’s Basketball Referees’ Association In Hamilton last week, Mr L. V. Gain, of Dunedin, was re-elected as president, Mr L. D. Smith (Dunedin) as vice-presi-dent, and Mr W. C. Wallace (Dunedin) as secretary.
