Fire In Soviet Industrial Areas

Thirty-one fire brigades fought for three hours and a-half to-day to put out a fire which swept an area one-third of a square mile near the Reichs bridge spanning the Danube in the Soviet sector. The fire broke out in a municipal bus garage and spread quickly to seven blocks of buildings, among them the wooden buildings of the Siemens Schuckert works and nearly 10,000 cubic feet of stored timber. The British-owned Bunzl and Birch paper works were among the buildings destroyed,
