The construction of a detailed quarter-inch scale map of England as it was in Domesday Book times, fs the work on which Miss Eila Campbell, of London’s first bursar to take up a fellowship to which the. New Zealand Federation of University Women contributed, has been engaged. Miss Campbell, a university lecturer and research worker in geography, describes herself as an historical geographer. In New Zealand Miss Campbell, who was guest speaker' at Hie September meeting of the Wellington Federation of University Women, hopes to study the sitting and spread of settlement in the South Island. Besides studying and photographing records in the chief libraries in New Zealand, she expects to travel extensively in the Dominion.
