IMPORT LICENSING
AMENDMENTS TO SCHEDULE The following amendments to the import licensing schedule has been announced by the Customs Department:— Delivery Vans.—Delivery vans may be imported from the United Kingdom in c k d. condition under 1949 period licences granted for the importation on unassembled commercial vehicle chassis. Rubber Tvres and Tubes.—The folding are to be added to the list of sizes which may not be imported under licences granted for the importation of rubber tyres and tubes: —Car: 5.90 x 15 and 5.25 x 21. Truck: 6.00 x 20, 7.00 x 20, and 7.50 x 20, in mud grip, ground grip, super traction and N. type, etc. Worsted Piece Goods and Yam.— Special licences will be granted for the importation of worsted piece goods and worsted yarn from the United Kingdom to the extent of the amounts of the unexpended balances remaining on licences granted for the importation of similar goods from Australia. The amounts of any such special licences granted are to be regarded in the meantime as a charge against the applicant’s 1950 period allocation in respect of such goods. Polyvinyl Chloride Sheeting.—Polyvinyl chloride sheeting may be imported from the United Kingdom under licences granted for the importation of textile piece goods of cotton, etc. . Aluminium Roofing Sheet. —The condition attached to licences granted for the importation of aluminium roofing sheet to the effect that they are available only for imports of types which comply with New Zealand or British standard specifications is cancelled. Inks and Stains.—The existing allocation of tanners’, curriers’ and bootmakers inks and stains is increased to AA 100 per cent., 1948.
