DOLLAR SITUATION

United States Will Have No Proposals MEETINGS IN WASHINGTON Eec. 11 p.m. WASHINGTON, Aug. 10. The United States would have no proposals to help solve Britain’s dollar problem at the talks to be held in Washington next month, said the Secretary of the Treasury. Mr John W. Snyder, to-day. The conferences of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund would be mainly discussions of the dollar situation rather than a general exchange of matters. Canada, the United States, and Britain were the countries primarily concerned. Pressed for details of American plans which might be offered as a possible solution to Britain’s crisis, Mr Snyder told a press conference: “We have no proposals to offer. We are going to have discussions and see what comes out of them. I think they will be very helpful.’’
