OCCASIONAL SHOWERS Tlie official weather forecast issued by the Government meteorologist in Wellington is:— Situation.—A ridge of high pressure lies over New Zealand and a ridge of low pressure is advancing across the South Tasman. Forecast to 5 p.m.—Moderate to fresh northerlies turning westerly; weather cloudy, with occasional showers developing ailong the south coast; temperatures cool to moderate. Further Outlook.—Showers in the' south, fair elsewhere. Weather in Dunedin.—ln spite of 9hrs 12min of sunshine, a strong north-east wind made conditions unpleasant in the city yesterday. Temperatures were lower. The maximum being 48deg, the minimum 43deg and the grass minimum 30deg. No rain was recorded up to 9.30 a.m. yesterday and at midnight the barometer reading was 30.00 inches.
