YOUTH SEVERELY INJURED
Severe injuries were suffered by Joseph Mitchell, agsd 17, when lie was cauElit by a revolving shaft at Weston about 4.30 yesterday afternoon. He was standing near a tractor which was driving a well-drilling plant when he was caught by the shaft connecting the two machines. An arm and an ankle were fractured, and he suffered abrasions and bruises. He received attention from Dr E. Stubbs and was taken by ambulance to the Oamaru Public Hospital. He is the son of Mr Ivan Mitchell, Parkside, Weston.
