MODIFIED MILK CHEESE
AUTHORITY FOR MANUFACTURE PA WELLINGTON, Aug. 11. Authority to manufacture modified milk cheese, described as 52 per cent, fat cheese, and for the registration of the premises in which such cheese is manufactured for export is contained in two Gazette notices published tonight. The British Ministry of Food is prepared to take about 1000 tons of 52 per cent, cheese during the present season and its manufacture will be conducted on an experimental basis to begin with. The cheese will be made in two selected factories under strict supervision, and, in order to provide for this control, the Dairy Factories (Licensing) Regulations have been amended. Provision for the actual manufacture of the cheese is contained in an amendment to the Dairy Produce Regulations.
