ST. CLAIR WOMEN’S CLUB

Mrs C. C. Roberts presided over a large attendance of members at the fortnightly meeting of the St. Clair Women’s Club. The Literary Circle, under the leadership of its chairwoman, Mrs Wedekind, presented an entertaining programme. In the first play, “ Portrait of a Queen,” the story was one of fantasy—a fairy tale for grown-ups. Those taking part were Mesdames Roberts, Macpherson, Woodhouse, Ruhen, Humphreys, Symonds, Rutledge, and Miss Marriage. The second clay, presented was a comedy, ’’ The Willing Horse,” and was produced by Mrs Bardsley. The cast was Mesdames Irvine, Mills, Scott, Caradus, Maloney, Rutherford, McLachlan, and McGrath. Between plays, Mrs Withers, accompanied by Mrs Symonds, presented a monologue, followed bv a recitation.
