First aid knowledge and boating experience would also be advantageous, owing to hazardous nature of coastline and difficulties of unloading vessels. No medical assistance on Island, and emergencies dependent on despatch of aid from vessels in the vicinity. Appointee required to plan and direct technical aspects of weights and measures work throughout the Dominion, including the training of Weights and Measures Inspectors.
