DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE ABOVE AVERAGE FOR MONDAY Brisk business was written on the Dunedin Stock Exchange yesterday, and both the quantity and variety of stocks .dealt in were above the average usually achieved on the opening day of the week. Chas Begg and Co., ex the dividend, were taken to 335, an advance of almost 5d on the cum dividend sale at 345. Wilson Malt Extract had a close market at 32s 9d (buyer) and 34s (seller) after' business at 335. Standard Insurances had reported business for the first time in three months, the sale price being 82s 6d in comparison with 82s 9d in March last. New Zealand Breweries advanced sharply to 43s 3d and buyers were still seeking at that figure. New Zealand Refrigerating contributing were a shade easier at 17s 6d (buyer) and 17s 9d' (seller), but the paid shares were in good demand at 38s 3d, with no seller. Ampol “ rights ” changed hands at Is 6d and Mount Lyell, after a deal at 20s, closed at 19s 3d (buyer), and 20s 6d (seller). DUNEDIN
