SOUTH AFRICAN OPPOSITION'S AMENDMENTS #
Rec. 9 p.m. CAPE TOWN, June 19. The Opposition tabled 27 amendments to the Citizenship Bill, which the Assembly will discuss -in committee on Monday, though it is unlikely that both Government and Opposition amendments can be all adequately debated in the 14 hours allowed for the committee stage. One of the most vital amendments which the Government will contest strongly seeks to confer Commonwealth citizenship on all South African citizens. ... • i Pamphlets protesting against the’ Bill were dropped from a plane oVar Cape Province yesterday. The pamphlet demanded a select committee for the Citizenship Bill, which was described in the pamphlet as “steamroller legislation."
