STOCK KILLING FIGURES DOWN FINEGAND FREEZING WORKS Special to the Daily Times BALCLUTHA, June 1. The effects of the dispute which began on May 6 between the butchers and the South Otago Freezing Co. Ltd. at the Finegand Freezing Works are reflected in the figures of stock handled :by the wbrks up to the end of May. The dispute is still affecting the works. Sheep ariaicattle killed this season totalled 303,223 which was 32,000 below the corresponding figure last season. At the end of April the difference was only 22,800. The number of cattle killed to date this season is about 1300, compared with 1743 last year. Weights are reported to be excellent and farmers nave preferred to withhold stock for as long as possible this season, owing to the excellent feed position. It is thought probable that the current killing season will not end before June 18.
